Prokaryotic cells lack any internal membrane-bound structures.

Eukaryotic cells are present in all living things except bacteria. The nucleus is the structure in which the cell's heredity material (DNA) is located.

Cell structure includes cell wall, cell membrane, nucleus, nucleoli, cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, golgi bodies, lysosomes, mitochondria, microtubules, microfilaments, centrioles, cilia and flagella, vacuoles, plastids, chromoplasts, chloroplasts, and endosymbiosis.

Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane from a region of high water concentration to a region of low water concentration.
